3D Asset Server — MCP-enabled search across 23 3D asset sites
A self-hosted TypeScript server that searches 23 3D asset sites at once, downloads results with license info, and exposes an MCP endpoint so AI agents can fetch and download assets directly. Apache-2.0.

One search across 23 3D asset libraries, with MCP support for AI agents.
What is it?
3D Asset Server is a self-hosted TypeScript API, web UI, and MCP server that queries 23 sources — including Poly Haven, Kenney, ambientCG, BlenderKit, CGTrader, and Sketchfab — in one request. Each result carries its license, whether it is free, and whether attribution is required. The public demo runs at 3d.shep.bot.
How does it work?
Per-site adapters handle API calls and HTML scraping; slow or failing sites do not break the query. Free sources support direct download of glTF bundles, PBR texture maps, HDRIs, and zip packs. Sites that block bots return a link to their own search page instead. The MCP interface runs over stdio or Streamable HTTP, and the REST API ships with an OpenAPI spec.
Why does it matter?
Artists and developers usually open several tabs and manually verify licenses before downloading anything. This server collapses that into a single search, and the MCP interface lets an AI agent (Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Desktop) fetch, filter, and download assets as part of an automated workflow without browser steps.
