What is it?
Deezer launched a free web app that scans a user's playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, and 16 other services for AI-generated songs. It uses the same proprietary detector Deezer already runs on its own catalog, where it tags AI tracks and removes them from algorithmic recommendations.
How does it work?
Users sign in to a streaming account, grant playlist access, and Deezer's classifier flags tracks made by tools like Suno and Udio by spotting artifacts left in the audio. Deezer says it tagged more than 13.4 million AI tracks across its catalog in 2025 and filed two patents on the detection method in December 2024.
Why does it matter?
Deezer says 44% of all new uploads to its platform are now AI-generated and that 85% of AI streams it sees are fraudulent. Spotify and Apple Music label AI tracks but do not strip them from recommendations. Putting Deezer's detector in front of any user, on any platform, is the first cross-DSP transparency tool listeners can run themselves.
