Studio by Spotify Labs — Standalone Desktop App Turns Your Calendar, Inbox, and Tastes Into AI-Generated Podcasts, Playlists, and Briefings
Spotify ships a standalone desktop app where an AI agent reads your calendar, inbox, and listening history to generate personal podcasts, playlists, and daily briefings; Research Preview rolling out to 18+ users in 20+ markets.

An AI agent that turns your calendar, inbox, and music taste into a podcast you actually want to listen to.
What is it?
Studio is a new standalone desktop app from Spotify Labs that creates personalized audio on demand. You give it a topic or a goal ("a daily briefing for my Italy road trip") and an agent generates a podcast, playlist, or daily brief that lands in your Spotify library and syncs across every device you use.
How does it work?
Studio runs as a conversational agent. It can read across your Spotify taste graph (music, podcasts, audiobooks), connect to your calendar, inbox, and notes, and browse the web to research topics. Outputs save into your Spotify library as private items you can refine by chatting back with the agent.
Why does it matter?
It is the first major streaming-native answer to Google's NotebookLM Audio Overviews, and the first time Spotify has shipped an agent that actively pulls personal data outside its own walled garden. If the Research Preview holds up, it changes who is best placed to own the "personal audio brief" category that NotebookLM has had largely to itself for a year.
Who is it for?
Spotify Premium subscribers in the Research Preview markets who want hands-free audio summaries of their own life.
