OpenAI announced an agreement to acquire Ona, the cloud development-environment company that operated as Gitpod until its September 2025 rebrand. Ona's CEO Johannes Landgraf and the rest of the team will join the Codex group after closing, which is subject to customary conditions; terms were not disclosed.
