Robinhood Opens 27M-Customer Brokerage to AI Agents — MCP Trading Servers, Agentic Credit Card With 3% Cash Back, Equities-Only Beta Today
Robinhood lets third-party AI agents trade equities and spend on a virtual Gold Card via two new MCP servers. Dedicated agent account, push notifications on every trade, instant disconnect, and 3% cash back on agent purchases.

Robinhood plugs a 27M-customer brokerage into the agent stack via MCP — your bot can trade equities and swipe a Gold Card on its own.

What is it?
Two new products: Agentic Trading lets a customer-chosen AI agent place equity orders inside a dedicated Robinhood account, and the Agentic Credit Card gives that same agent a virtual Robinhood Gold Card with a user-set monthly spending cap. Both run on top of Robinhood's new Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for trading and banking. Equities-only at launch in beta, with options, crypto, futures, event contracts, and prediction markets queued for follow-on releases.
How does it work?
Customers open a separate agentic brokerage account funded with whatever balance they choose to expose. An external agent — from Claude, ChatGPT, or anywhere — connects through Robinhood's MCP trading server and gets read access to portfolio plus write access to place orders. Every trade fires a push notification with a real-time activity feed and live P&L in the Robinhood app; users can revoke the agent connection at any time. The Agentic Credit Card is a virtual Gold Card with monthly caps and optional per-purchase manual approval, scoped so the agent can never touch the customer's primary card.
Why does it matter?
This is the first major US broker to publish an MCP server for autonomous agent trading and the first to ship a credit card built explicitly for AI agents. American Banker called it a 'wake-up call' for retail banks. Combined with last week's Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe agentic-checkout pushes, the rails to let agents move real money on a US-regulated brokerage are now live in beta — not a demo, not a partnership announcement.
Who is it for?
Devs building autonomous portfolio agents, fintech founders, retail-broker product teams, MCP server authors.
