Google AI Mode adds Connected Apps — Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music
Google Search's AI Mode can now push actions into Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music without leaving the results page — add groceries, spin up a design template, or build a playlist from one prompt. Rolling out in the US this week.

AI Mode graduates from answering questions to doing things — Instacart carts, Canva designs, and YouTube Music playlists all inside Search.
What is it?
Connected Apps lets AI Mode inside Google Search invoke actions on linked third-party services. At launch it wires into Instacart for grocery add-to-cart, Canva for template creation, and YouTube Music for playlist building, all triggered from a single Search prompt.
How does it work?
Users authenticate each app once from the AI Mode settings panel; from then on, an AI Mode query like 'add pantry basics to my Instacart' or 'make a playlist for a road trip on YouTube Music' hands off to the corresponding app API and returns the finished action inline. Google says more partners are queued behind the initial three.
Why does it matter?
This is the first time Search itself — not the Gemini app — can perform third-party actions, so a lot of users will meet agentic AI here first. It also sets a new distribution point for app integrations: Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music get action-tier presence right in the world's biggest search box.
