Codex CLI 0.162.0 — managed Git worktrees and pinned tasks

Codex CLI 0.162.0 adds managed Git worktree tools for trusted local projects, task pinning in the Command Center, /copy for transcript blocks, and keeps CRLF line endings when apply_patch edits a file.

Codex CLI can now create and list Git worktrees itself and lets you pin tasks in its Command Center.

What is it?

Managed Git worktree tools are the headline of Codex CLI 0.162.0: with the worktrees feature on, the agent can create and list worktrees in trusted local projects. Tasks in the agent Command Center can be pinned with the p key into a shared Pinned group, when the server supports it.

How does it work?

In the terminal UI, a new /copy command moves through transcript blocks and copies them, Ctrl+Insert copies a selection, and tui.mouse_scroll_speed tunes mouse-wheel scrolling. Custom Responses-compatible model providers can now turn on live web access and remote compaction, and Code Mode gets JavaScript helpers that stream promise results plus opt-in ranked tool search.

Why does it matter?

Windows users get fewer broken edits: apply_patch keeps existing CRLF line endings, and plain drive-letter file access works on Windows 10. The client also respects the server's Retry-After advice on retryable failures, and new TUI threads follow the server's model and reasoning-summary defaults.
