Overview

App Store & Google Play Screenshots Generator is a skill for AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf and OpenCode. You describe your app, hand over raw captures from a simulator, emulator or device, and the agent scaffolds a Next.js editor project that turns those captures into ad-style marketing slides with big, readable headlines. Before generating anything, the skill has the agent ask for app context, source screenshots, platforms, locales, visual direction and slide count.

The result is a full editor rather than a one-off static page. A connected canvas shows the whole screenshot strip at once, so phones, captions and decorative elements can span adjacent screens and each screen is exported as a precise crop; an isolated mode keeps older decks from leaking elements into neighbouring exports. A screen sidebar handles ordering, an inspector edits layout, copy, screenshots and transforms, and a platform switcher keeps iOS, Mac and Android decks side by side. One click on Export bundle downloads a zip of PNGs organised by platform, device, resolution and locale.

Every deck is saved to `app-store-screenshots.json` and uploads land in `public/screenshots/uploaded/`, so committing both makes the project reproducible after a fresh clone. The skill ships 18 named visual styles, each with a spec covering palette, typography, layout rhythm and copy voice, plus a headline copy library. The README notes that example screenshots made with it were accepted for the Bloom Coffee Shelf Recipe app on the App Store. It is MIT-licensed and written in TypeScript.

What it does

  • Scaffolds a Next.js screenshot editor with a connected canvas, device frames, screen sidebar, inspector and autosave
  • Exports PNG bundles at the required App Store, Mac App Store and Google Play sizes, including iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, CarPlay and the Play feature graphic
  • Git-trackable project state in `app-store-screenshots.json`, with older project files migrated on load
  • 18 named visual styles, each with a matching palette preset in the editor's theme picker
  • Copy ideas menu and headline library with formulas per slide role and ready lines for 13 app categories
  • Locale support with RTL-aware copy and layout guidance

Getting started

Install the skill into your coding agent, ask it for store screenshots, then refine and export them in the editor it generates. Requires Node.js 18+ and one of bun, pnpm, yarn or npm.

Install the skill

Use the `skills` CLI (project, global, or for one specific agent), or clone it straight into Claude Code's skills folder.

bashbash
npx skills add ParthJadhav/app-store-screenshots
npx skills add ParthJadhav/app-store-screenshots -g
npx skills add ParthJadhav/app-store-screenshots -a claude-code

# manual install
git clone https://github.com/ParthJadhav/app-store-screenshots ~/.claude/skills/app-store-screenshots

Ask your agent for screenshots

Say what the app does, list its top features, and name the platforms, style, slide count and locales. Naming one of the bundled styles applies its whole spec.

Build App Store screenshots for my habit tracker.
The app helps people stay consistent with simple daily routines.
I want 6 slides, clean minimal style, warm neutrals, and a calm premium feel.

Edit and export

Run the dev server and open the editor. Organise screens in the sidebar, edit copy and layouts in the inspector, choose Connected or Isolated mode, then click Export bundle to download store-ready PNGs. Commit `app-store-screenshots.json` and `public/screenshots/uploaded/` to keep the deck reproducible.

Commands and code are distilled from the project's own documentation — always check the official repo for the latest.

When to use it

  • Produce a full set of App Store and Google Play screenshots for an indie app without a designer
  • Localise a screenshot deck into several languages, including right-to-left scripts
  • Keep store marketing images in version control and regenerate them when the app's UI changes
  • Cover secondary Apple targets such as iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, CarPlay and Mac from one editor
