Overview

GSAP AI Skills is the GreenSock Animation Platform's official answer to agents writing plausible-looking GSAP that does not work. Animation libraries are a bad fit for recall from training data: the API has moved across major versions, plugin registration is easy to get subtly wrong, and React or Vue integration has its own cleanup rules that a model will happily skip. This package hands the agent the current, vendor-authored guidance instead of letting it improvise.

Eight skill modules cover the surface area: the core API, timelines, ScrollTrigger, plugin usage, the utility methods, React integration, performance, and framework support for Vue and Svelte. Each is loaded when relevant rather than all at once, so the agent picks up ScrollTrigger guidance when it is writing scroll-driven animation and not when it is writing a simple tween.

Distribution is through the skills CLI, which targets Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Google Antigravity, Codex, Windsurf and, per the README, 40+ agents in total via the same command. It is MIT licensed and maintained by GreenSock itself, which is the main reason to prefer it over a community-written GSAP prompt: when the library changes, the skills are the vendor's to update.

What it does

  • Official and vendor-maintained — authored by GreenSock rather than reverse-engineered from docs
  • Eight modules: core API, timelines, ScrollTrigger, plugins, utilities, React, performance, and Vue/Svelte support
  • Loaded per task, so the agent reads ScrollTrigger guidance only when it is writing scroll-driven animation
  • Covers the integration rules models most often get wrong — plugin registration and framework cleanup
  • Installs across Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Google Antigravity, Codex, Windsurf and 40+ agents via one command
  • MIT licensed

Getting started

Installed with the skills CLI through npx — no separate runtime to set up.

Install the skills

bashbash
npx skills add https://github.com/greensock/gsap-skills

Target a specific agent

Append `--agent` with the agent's name to install into one client instead of being prompted.

bashbash
npx skills add https://github.com/greensock/gsap-skills --agent copilot

npx skills add https://github.com/greensock/gsap-skills --agent antigravity

Ask for the animation you want

Once installed, the agent pulls the relevant module on its own — ask for a scroll-driven sequence and it reads the ScrollTrigger skill, ask for a React component and it reads the React integration rules.

Re-run to update

`npx skills add` re-fetches the package, so running the install command again is how you pick up GreenSock's updates as GSAP changes.

Commands and code are distilled from the project's own documentation — always check the official repo for the latest.

When to use it

  • Stop an agent inventing a GSAP API that was removed two major versions ago
  • Get correct plugin registration and ScrollTrigger setup on the first attempt
  • Keep React, Vue and Svelte animation cleanup right so animations do not leak between renders
  • Give a whole team's agents the same vendor-blessed animation guidance

Karpathy Coding Guidelines★ 218kA Claude Code plugin and CLAUDE.md rule set built from Andrej Karpathy's observations on LLM coding pitfalls: think before coding, keep it simple, make surgical changes, and work to verifiable success criteria.
Ponytail★ 159kA skill and plugin that makes a coding agent take the laziest correct route — a seven-rung ladder from "does this need to exist?" to "the minimum that works" — while keeping validation, security and accessibility off the chopping block.
Caveman★ 111kA skill plus local proxy that shortens an AI coding agent's prose while leaving code, commands and paths untouched — the rule file cuts what the agent writes, the proxy compresses what it reads.
