- Sam Witteveen — '3,000 Tokens/Sec Locally: Testing the ZGX Fury'
Sam Witteveen tests HP's ZGX Fury, a shared desktop AI machine built on NVIDIA's GB300 chip with 748 GB of memory, and shows local inference speeds, software and use cases.
- Martin Fowler on LLM Voice — authors should write the prose themselves
Martin Fowler says text that sounds LLM-written makes him stop reading, and that authors should not let an LLM draft their work because editing rarely removes the style.
- Claude Code extension 2.1.313 — tampered build carried an SSH backdoor
Cursor says a tampered Anthropic.claude-code 2.1.313 was live in its extension marketplace for about 11 hours on 29 October. It adds an SSH key and a reverse tunnel. Cursor says at most 5,000 users were affected.
- Claude Code 2.1.314 — a block on writes outside the project and gateway groups
Claude Code 2.1.314 adds a permission setting that blocks file writes outside the working directories, lets the Claude apps gateway route upstreams by IdP group, and fixes effort-cap errors and silent exits in claude -p.
